InvesTaiwan approved the additional investments of nearly NT$2.5 billion by 7 companies today (14th), including Fountain Can under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations, as well as Shape It Corporation, Tomlong Techstile Corporation, Naisen Caring, TSY Fong Glass Co., Ltd., Hung-Jou Technology Co., Ltd., and Leapwell Technology Co., Ltd. under the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs. At present, the three major programs for investing in Taiwan have attracted over NT$1.2249 trillion in investments from 887 companies, and are expected to create 102,520 domestic employment opportunities, in which the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by Domestic Corporations has attracted approximately NT$183.8 billion in investments from 102 domestic corporations and created 13,914 domestic employment opportunities; the Action Plan for Accelerated Investment by SMEs has attracted approximately NT$241.4 billion in investments from 572 SMEs and created 22,385 domestic employment opportunities; applications of 68 companies are still pending review.
Fountain Can is mainly in the business of manufacturing and selling aluminum cans to major beverage companies in Taiwan, such as Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation, Vedan, Taiwan Tsing Beer Co.,Ltd., and HeySong, and also exports to countries in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. The company has engaged in technical cooperation with major companies in Japan and the US, and its products have obtained numerous safety certifications. It has also obtained certifications and supplier licenses from Pepsi and Heineken. The company plans to recruit 21 domestic employees and invest over NT$900 million to expand its current factory in Guantian Industrial Park, in order to expand into global markets and increase its production capacity. The Company will add a smart production line, monitoring system, and collect big data on can production, in order to maximize production and sales.
Shape It Corporation specializes in the processing, manufacturing, and application of high performance textile materials, and has a sales branch in Vancouver, Canada. The company produces outdoor sports equipment, such as extreme climbing mats and inflatable boats and rafts, and also produces medical grade and military grade biochemical protection coveralls. To establish a high-tech textiles production line, the company plans to recruit 65 domestic employees and increase its investment by nearly NT$300 million to add a cleanroom, quality control laboratory and R&D office in its Taichung Wuri Factory. The Company will also use smart production equipment and directly manufacture products in Taiwan. This way it does not need to process products in Southeast Asia, shortening the delivery time, enhancing its industrial competitiveness, and keeping key technologies in Taiwan.
Tomlong Techstile Corporation focuses on the research and production of eco-friendly composite materials, and provides high-end material applications for outdoor sports, national defense industries, water, and medical industries. It is the designated supplier of numerous well-known outdoor brands, including Ortlieb, Cascade, Arc’teryx, and The North Face, with products sold throughout Asia, Europe, and Americas. The company’s equipment in its Taichung Dajia plant is old and inadequate for a strong R&D team, so it plans to invest over NT$300 million on high precision coating and laminating production line and testing equipment, meeting the needs of customers with high standards while creating 54 local employment opportunities.
Naisen Caring specializes in the production of wet wipes and independently developed a series of wet wipes products with separate packaging, such as eyeglass wipes and shoe wipes, making it the only manufacturer of separately packaged wet wipes in Taiwan. Its customers include Tin Tin Drugstore, RT-Mart, Watsons, Simple Mart, and NT$39 store. The company plans to invest nearly NT$60 million to install a smart production line in Daliao District, Kaohsiung City to increase its production capacity. The smart production line will shorten production time, reduce consumption, allow equipment to be monitored in real time, increase product yield and productivity, and allow the company to develop towards smart equipment, specialized production, and smart machinery. The investment will create 7 domestic employment opportunities.
TSY Fong Glass Co., Ltd. is an important building glass processing and manufacturing company and a distributor for the glass industry in Taiwan. The company passed the international quality certification ISO9001:2000. The company transitioned from simple reinforcement to investment in key processed products, such as laminated glass (safety glass) and insulating glass, in response to trends in the building industry. The company plans to invest over NT$300 million to upgrade the equipment in its factory in Wanluan Township, Pingtung County, and will install an ERP system and industrial IoT equipment to improve its product quality. The investment will create 17 domestic employment opportunities.
Hung-Jou Technology Co., Ltd. is a semiconductor equipment parts, consumables, and engineering improvement supplier. Its customers include major electronics companies such as TSMC, UMC, and Micron, and it also sells products to overseas markets. The company is promoting the development of a semiconductor industrial cluster in Hsinchu to help improve advanced processes and product yield of the high-tech industry. The company plans to recruit 21 domestic employees and increase its investment by nearly NT$200 million to build a factory in Hsinchu City, incorporating elements of smart manufacturing to upgrade its production process. It is using digitalized management and a real-time monitoring system to develop towards industrial IoT, allowing Taiwan to maintain global leadership in ICT technology.
Leapwell Technology Co., Ltd. is an industrial extrusion and large aluminum extrusion manufacturer, and its products are characterized by being light weight, having excellent malleable, and shock resistant. The company passed the IATF16949 quality management certification, and its products can be extensively applied in bicycle, automobile, and mechanical parts. The company plans to recruit 30 domestic employees and invest nearly NT$400 million to build a second factory in Liuying District, Tainan in response to market demand and continue to develop new products. It will bring in smart production equipment into its existing factory and new factory and carry out digital integration, in order to enhance its competitiveness, improve its manufacturing capabilities, and increase its market share.
