The 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) officially opened on March 17 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. The Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) unveiled its themed pavilion centered on three key concepts—“Go Global,” “Go Digital,” and “Go Green,” highlighting Taiwan’s achievements in leveraging digital technologies to drive industrial innovation and sustainable development.
The ADI noted that, with support from the Executive Yuan’s Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program, the government has collaborated with industry partners to advance smart solutions and services. To date, 268 smart services closely that aligned with citizens’ daily needs have been developed, spanning transportation, healthcare, urban governance, and public services.
At this year’s exhibition, the ADI pavilion presents Taiwan’s technological innovation and industrial capabilities through its three main themes. The “Go Global” zone focuses on the international export potential of smart solutions, featuring applications such as smart aquaculture, healthcare solutions, DNA-based origin identification, and generative AI platforms. These exhibits demonstrate Taiwan’s ability to transcend regulatory and market differences while expanding into global markets.
The “Go Digital” zone emphasizes human-centric digital applications. Through interactive technologies such as artificial intelligence and speech recognition, it showcases AI-powered reading guide, AI-enabled multilingual medical voice memo, AI-guided tours, and smart education solutions, creating intuitive and user-friendly digital experiences.
Meanwhile, the “Go Green” zone highlights sustainable environments and smart urban governance, presenting solutions including intelligent traffic data management, food waste reduction matchmaking platforms, and AIoT-enabled public bicycle management systems. These innovations illustrate how technology can promote low-carbon efficiency and resilience in both urban governance and everyday life.
In addition, the ADI pavilion features a dedicated APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance) zone as one of its key highlights. APICTA is one of the most influential ICT organizations in the Indo-Pacific region, and its annual APICTA Awards—often regarded as the “Oscars of the Asia-Pacific ICT industry”—attract more than 200 teams each year. The awards recognize outstanding innovations in AI, smart cities, and digital application solutions.
This year, the pavilion invites winners of the 2025 APICTA Awards to showcase how their technologies have been translated into real-world smart city applications. A forum titled “From Innovation to Implementation: How APICTA Award-Winning Technologies Become Urban Solutions” was also held in the afternoon, bringing together international judges and award-winning teams to share insights on technology deployment and explore opportunities for international collaboration and commercialization through the APICTA platform.
The ADI emphasized that the Smart City Summit & Expo serves as a major global platform for urban governance and digital technology exchange. Through this platform, Taiwan aims not only to demonstrate its achievements in smart services and digital innovation, but also to foster collaboration between industries and cities, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s digital industry.
