The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) led 15 Taiwanese startup teams to participate in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, one of Asia's premier innovation and startup exhibitions. Through Startup Terrace, Taiwan presented innovative solutions in artificial intelligence (AI), smart cities, and digital applications, attracting strong interest from international investors, corporations, and government representatives. The event provided valuable opportunities for Taiwanese startups to strengthen their visibility and explore business opportunities in Japan and other global markets.
A major highlight of the exhibition was the advancement of Taiwan-Japan startup collaboration. Startup Terrace signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan's TSUCREA to promote cooperation in startup incubation, technology exchange, and international market development. In addition, Taiwanese autonomous driving startup Turing Drive signed an MOU with Macnica to integrate AI-driven mobility solutions with advanced semiconductor and computing technologies, accelerating expansion into the Japanese market.
During the three-day exhibition, the Taiwan Pavilion attracted nearly 3,000 visitors and engaged with leading organizations including Panasonic, NTT, Shimizu Corporation, and Plug and Play Japan. The MOEA emphasized that it will continue supporting startups in accessing international markets and strengthening Taiwan's position within the global innovation ecosystem.
