Wafer Works is one of the world's top ten silicon wafer suppliers with products ranging from 4-inch to 12-inch semiconductor-grade silicon wafers and epitaxial wafers, which are marketed globally under the brand Wafer Works. In response to the continued growth of the semiconductor market, the company has applied for the “Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan” for the fourth time to further build new production capacity, expanding its investment and the scale of its fab in Erlin Science Park. The total investment amount is approximately NT$17.88 billion and will create more job opportunities for the area. The new fab is expected to utilize AI technology to establish a process data analysis and monitoring mechanism, improve product quality, and shorten the lead time. It will also install solar power generation equipment and compile its greenhouse gas inventory to gradually reduce carbon emissions. This investment will help Wafer Works enhance its technological capabilities and product portfolio in advanced semiconductor materials, laying an important foundation for future growth and sustainable development.
Cheer Time Enterprise Co., Ltd. has dedicated its efforts in the printed circuit board industry for over three decades, and mainly engages in the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of double-sided and multi-layer printed circuit boards, high-density interconnect (HDI) PCB, thick copper boards, and specialty substrates. The company plans to add smart production lines at its Shulin plant in New Taipei City and Luzhu plant in Taoyuan City, and will adopt AI technology in engineering design, production equipment, and scheduling management to improve product yield and shorten lead time. It will also purchase energy-efficient inverter chiller units and recycle process waste liquid to reduce carbon emissions and save energy. The investment amount is approximately NT$180 million and will create 7 domestic job opportunities. It will also help Cheer Time reduce carbon emissions and upgrade key processes, accumulating technological capabilities to meet the market demand for high-end products.
The precision aluminum alloy components manufacturer mainly produces key components for jet airliners and anti-dry burn mechanisms for semiconductor equipment, serving high value-added industries, such as aerospace, defense, and semiconductors. The company has established a process and quality control mechanism that meets international standards. The company plans to build a new plant in Northern Taiwan and expand its existing plant. The new plant will introduce AI engineering application software to accelerate drafting and improve quality management. It will also adopt low-carbon and energy-efficient equipment and install solar power generation facilities to effectively reduce energy consumption. This investment will help the company improve its core technologies and optimize its processes, while driving the technological independence of defense and aerospace industries in terms of key technologies.
