MiTAC Computing Technology Corp. is a subsidiary of MiTAC Holdings, and serves the global market under the brand MiTAC Computing, providing data center and enterprise-level server solutions. The company has further moved from server platforms to rack and AI cluster integration in recent years, and is developing an open computing architecture under the OCP and actively developing air cooling to liquid cooling solutions. It is developing AI infrastructure covering computing, storage, networking, and cooling to help customers improve overall performance and create greater product value. The company plans to build a new plant in Yangmei District, Taoyuan City, and expand its production lines at its existing Zhunan and Linkou plants. It will invest a total of approximately NT$12.62 billion and recruit 300 local employees.
To gain a greater advantage in high-end manufacturing in Taiwan, MiTAC Computing has applied for the “Action Plan for Welcoming Overseas Taiwanese Businesses to Return to Invest in Taiwan” for the second time. This investment will adopt AIoT, smart warehousing and logistics, automated server assembly, and AI computer vision equipment, which will significantly upgrade production line flexibility and manufacturing precision. At the same time, the company will build an enterprise-grade AI computing center to support big data analysis, AI scheduling, and digital twin verification, accelerating decision-making assisted by AI in operations. In addition, the factory building will utilize BIM for precision construction, intelligent energy management system (EMS), and solar power generation to obtain the U.S. LEED gold certification for green buildings, so as to achieve its low carbon and sustainability goals. After the investment is completed, it is expected to increase the production capacity of high-end servers and rack products, and secure Taiwan's strategic position in the global AI industry supply chain.
